Community Services

Community Services is dedicated to improving the quality of life of individuals with disabilities using a community-based, person centered approach. These services help these individuals live, grow, and become more independent and productive members of their community. Client choice, independence, and sensitivity to culture and diversity are best realized by committing ourselves to work within our four core values: Quality of focus, Collaboration, Innovation, and Respect.

Some of the programs we offer are:

Apple Seed Tours - Leisure activities are planned to enhance the quality of life, and to have participants enjoy the benefits of working and being productive members of society.

Community Living Arrangements (Group Homes) - Provides 24-hour supervision for individuals with developmental disabilities. Residential homes are located in New Fairfield, Torrington, and New Hartford. of Connecticut.

Supported Employment Services - Provides a person-centered model of employment supports. These supports may include skill development, needs assessment, community and work exploration, resume and interview supports, job development and placement supports, on-the-job training, and situational assessments.

Supported Living Program - Supports consumers in an independent living environment within their community.

Title V Older Worker Program - A Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) for income eligible individuals, age 55 and older. They receive employment training and placement at host non-profit worksites or through on the job experience in the private sector. The goal of the program is to provide short-term support and training in a subsidized environment which will lead to unsubsidized employment either full or part-time.

TRED (Transportation Reaching Every Direction) - Provides free transportation services to eligible Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) clients in northwestern Connecticut.
